Maria and Gavin’s love story is a testament to perfect timing and meaningful reconnections.
“We had gone to high school together in New Jersey and knew each other, socially, but not well. After Covid, Gavin moved back from across the country and we reconnected. We dated for just under two years before he proposed.”
In Search for the Perfect Ring
Maria reflects on how their paths crossed again—and how Gavin knew exactly the kind of ring she would love, understanding that a traditional diamond wasn’t her style.
“I have been a fan of estate jewelry for a long time and discovered Jack Weir and Sons on Instagram. I loved their pieces and showed my then boyfriend their page and he knew he would find my future engagement ring in their collection.”
With a clear vision for something unique and one-of-a-kind, Maria found that estate jewelry offered exactly what she was looking for—pieces with history, character, and beauty that simply can’t be replicated.
“I knew I didn’t want a diamond and he chose a stunning ring with a mixed cushion cut emerald center stone and diamond tapered baguettes circa 1950.

We got engaged at our favorite place— the Longport Dog Beach with our two dogs, Carmela and Nina. It was the perfect day.”
Behind the scenes, Sasha played a key role in helping Gavin secure the perfect ring. Through thoughtful communication, attention to detail, and impeccable timing, the JW&S team ensured everything came together seamlessly for the proposal.
“Gavin worked with Sasha and the team at JW & Sons and it was the most seamless experience. Since we were at a distance, they took extra care of the delivery. We love their collection and attention to detail. We will be life-long customers.”
On October 11, 2024, the couple officially tied the knot and now beautifully embrace their journey of love together.
Thank you, Gavin and Maria, for letting us be a small part of your story. We wish you nothing but joy, adventure, and a lifetime of happiness!
