The Vintage Vision
For Summer and Sammy, finding the perfect engagement ring meant discovering a piece that effortlessly reflected their shared love—and their deep appreciation for meaningful design. Summer shares that she and Sammy dreamed of finding a ring that was timeless and truly representative of their bond. “Being a vintage collector myself I knew this could be the place for us. When I showed Sammy he immediately called to book us an appointment.
When we arrived, the Jack Weir team was so warm and welcoming; I remember walking into their office and feeling very at ease. Their knowledge and helpfulness in discussing what we were looking for made the entire experience feel very intimate. We were instantly captivated by their thoughtful curation and expertise in antique jewelry. They had the most beautiful collection.”
Mapping Out the Ring
As a vintage enthusiast, Summer trusted the Jack Weir & Sons team to help her find a ring that aligned with her identity and their love story. But in the end, the perfect ring wasn’t something to be found—it had to be created.
Inspired by a beloved 1950s aquamarine ring in her personal collection, Summer envisioned a piece that captured its glamour and Old Hollywood charm. She knew Jack Weir & Sons was the only place she could trust to bring that vision to life.
On their second visit to the showroom, Summer and Sammy discovered her dream diamond.
“We originally loved the idea of an emerald cut, but after trying on many different stones, the pear shape completely stole my heart and I knew it was for me.”
With the diamond selected, they shifted focus to the setting.
“...the delicate filigree in the crown was especially important to us but without looking over done. The Jack Weir team understood and brought it to life with so much care and artistry. They even created 3 prototype molds for me to try on to ensure I loved it, refining every small detail.”
After receiving the final mold, Summer knew it was perfect—and from there, the rest was in Sammy’s hands.
Sometimes, those of us with vintage hearts still envision custom pieces—ones that pay tribute to the past while weaving in our own individuality. For Summer, it was about transforming a cherished design into something new, with personal meaning and intentional details.
The Proposal
But the magic didn’t end with the ring. Sammy had his own surprise in store—a romantic and intimate proposal, set in one of their favorite places.
A year later, the couple planned a weekend getaway to St. Helena, California—a destination close to their hearts. Summer thought they were simply escaping the city for a wine event.
“But through an eventful day, Sammy proposed with the ring, it was everything I imagined and more. Romantic, elegant, timeless, and with so much love that went into every aspect.
We’ll always be so grateful to the Jack Weir team for helping us create such a meaningful part of our story.”
