Danny and Katherine’s love story was years in the making. They met on the East Coast—he was a saxophone student at Temple University, she was studying acting at Juilliard. They crossed paths, saved each other’s numbers, and stayed connected, but life kept moving. It wasn’t until Katherine relocated to Los Angeles in 2021 that everything fell into place.
“We started to talk, made each other laugh, and soon realized we were falling in love,” Danny says.
One Sunday morning after Thanksgiving, Katherine caught Danny browsing engagement rings online.
“She lovingly looked at me and said, ‘Hey, I’ll still be surprised whenever—if ever—you ask, but maybe let’s go try something on?’”
They searched for a jewelry store that carried vintage pieces and found Jack Weir & Sons. Without an appointment, they stopped by, where Andrea welcomed them upstairs.
“We looked at rings together and very quickly agreed on which one looked best,” Danny recalls. Katherine narrowed it down to her top four, and on a second visit, they made the plunge—celebrating with a bottle of sparkling wine.
But Danny had one last surprise.
A Hidden Ring & A Perfect Proposal
Days later, they flew to Hawaii for performances, with the ring hidden in Danny’s saxophone case—nearly discovered by TSA.
“I had to play it cool while Katherine was right there,” Danny says. “Thankfully, she got distracted at the perfect moment.”
On their day off, they drove up to the North Shore, stopping for garlic shrimp before heading to dinner at Senia. Katherine thought it was just a casual evening out—until the restaurant’s General Manager led them upstairs to a private room.
Waiting inside were two of their closest friends—one filming, the other singing, “You Are So Beautiful… to Danny.”
“At that point, Katherine knew what was happening,” Danny shares. “I got down on one knee and asked her to spend her life with me. And she said yes.”
A Ring That’s Now Part of Their Story
“The ring sparkled in that room and continues to do so every day,” Danny says. “It fits our style, suits her so well, and now, carries such a beautiful memory.”
As they plan their future, they know Jack Weir & Sons will be part of it—for their wedding bands, special occasions, and just to say hello.
